State-run flagship carrier Air India on Tuesday faced the threat of more strike action by pilots in support of payment demands.
Junior pilots would strike from November 24 "if issues including that of pending arrears are not addressed by Air India management by November 10", the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) said.
Air India lost a billion dollars in the financial year to March 2009 and senior pilots staged a five-day strike in September to protest benefit cuts, prompting widespread flight cancellations by the airline.
The carrier was forced to delay implementation of a plan to cut incentives and other payments after the senior pilots staged the walkout.
Air India has been steadily losing market share in the face of intense competition in the crowded airline sector.
The carrier employs more than 31,000 people and has been seeking to reduce payroll costs as it struggles to return to profitability.
India's airline industry has been hit by overcapacity and a sharp drop in passengers as a result of the global economic slowdown.
The government has said it will give Air India a one-billion-dollar bailout on condition that the state-run airline cuts costs and increases revenues.
